About PEAKVEIN
About PEAKVEIN: Hong Kong Advertising Truck Rental and Mobile Promotion Services
Nearly ten years of promotional vehicle experience and six vehicle ranges owned by us. Advertising truck rental, LED screen trucks, mobile exhibition vehicles, stage trucks, vehicle graphics and complete event production across all 18 Hong Kong districts.
Who we are: connecting brands with Hong Kong's 18 districts
PEAKVEIN specialises in Hong Kong advertising truck rental, mobile promotional vehicles, mobile advertising, LED screen trucks, exhibition vehicles, stage trucks and event production services. With nearly ten years of campaign experience, we continue expanding our vehicle ranges to support clients' products, services, events and branding. We bring messages to business districts, residential areas, event venues and pedestrian streets throughout Hong Kong.
Mobile vehicle advertising involves much more than placing an advertisement on a vehicle. An effective campaign coordinates vehicle choice, routes, timing, content, on-site staff, venues, weather contingencies and performance tracking. The vehicle is the medium; the campaign centres on which message the target audience sees, where and when.
PEAKVEIN therefore offers mobile promotion plans tailored to brand objectives, alongside vehicle rental. For store openings, product launches, seasonal sales, shopping centre roadshows, property promotions, financial brands, food sampling, exhibitions, recruitment, community charity events and major brand campaigns, we recommend vehicles, routes and execution to match the practical requirements.

Our approach: precise routes, purposeful coverage
Brands trying promotional vehicles for the first time often ask whether a campaign can cover all 18 districts. It can, but this is not always the most effective approach. Districts differ in population, commercial activity, traffic, street dimensions, spending habits and pedestrian peaks.Broad coverage does not necessarily mean effective coverage.
We turn clients' business objectives into practical mobile campaigns. For example:
- A store opening needs nearby residents to know it opens today, so routes should centre on the store rather than spread evenly across Hong Kong.
- A product launch may need excitement and QR-code registrations; an LED truck can show countdowns, product highlights and content updated immediately.
- A restaurant campaign aims to bring diners in, so timing should match decisions made before lunch, dinner, afternoon tea or late-night meals.
- Shopping centres and major events need people to remain on site, supported by multi-purpose trucks, stage trucks, event staff, photo spots and interactive activities.
- Residential and older-district campaigns need community access. Mini trucks can enter narrow streets, estate access roads and local catchment areas more easily than larger vehicles.
- Recruitment or enrolment campaigns need specific audiences on the move, with routes aligned to school dismissal, industrial-area lunch breaks or transport-hub flows.
We do not recommend vehicles solely by size. Large LED trucks provide illuminated displays, video and same-day content changes. Mini trucks offer street access and community reach. Multi-purpose trucks create display and interaction space; stage trucks provide an event focal point; and vintage vans support brand image and photo opportunities. The right vehicle matters more than the most expensive one.
Three principles we often share with clients
First, identify who needs to see the message before deciding where to go.The route follows from the strategy. Once the audience, timing and call to action are clear, the route narrows to a few sensible options.
Second, simpler messages work better for mobile advertising.People usually see a passing advertisement for only a few seconds. One main message, a recognisable brand and one action—scan, visit, note the date or find the address—often work better than numerous selling points.
Third, touring and stationary activity serve different purposes.Touring provides coverage and repeated exposure; stationary activity supports time spent, interaction and conversion. Most successful campaigns combine the two.

The work we handle beyond the vehicle
Clients often initially focus only on the vehicle. A complete mobile campaign usually includes the following tasks, which we can provide or help coordinate:
- Vehicle advertising design: Artwork at actual vehicle dimensions, including bleed, visual focal height, distance readability and brand guidelines
- Sticker and printed graphic production: Material selection, printing, lamination, cutting and vehicle fitting
- LED content production: Video, animation, captions, playlists and layouts matching the screen's resolution and proportions
- Route and timing planning: Itineraries based on target areas, street conditions, pedestrian peaks, harbour crossings and feasible stopping locations
- On-site staffing: MCs, promoters, distribution teams, event supervisors, photographers and videographers
- Venue coordination: Use arrangements with shopping centres, private premises, event venues and their management teams
- Campaign documentation: Route records, on-site photos, video, archived playback content and post-event reports
The choice between an LED truck and a mini truck usually depends on viewing distance, street conditions, content changes and whether sampling or trials are planned. Read the detailed comparison in LED Screen Trucks vs Mini Promotional Trucks: Specifications, Brightness, Pixel Pitch and Costs; for vehicle production details, see Advertising Truck Production: Vehicle Design, Printed Wraps and LED Conversions。
How we plan a mobile promotional vehicle campaign
Every brand has different goals, so no fixed route or single most-effective vehicle suits everyone. PEAKVEIN begins with six steps:
- Confirm the business objective: Is the goal brand awareness, store traffic, product promotion, registrations, offer redemption or excitement around an event?
- Define the audience: Are you targeting office workers, families, students, residents, visitors, diners or people in a particular industry?
- Confirm districts and street conditions: Is the location a main road, shopping centre, estate, narrow older street, event venue or private site? Actual vehicle access takes priority over appearance.
- Determine whether content needs updating: LED displays offer greater flexibility for countdowns, limited-time offers, different daily content or confidential product launches.
- Confirm on-site interaction: Sampling, giveaways, QR-code gifts, product trials or stage segments require vehicle space, load capacity, staffing, venues and licences to be planned together.
- Agree how results will be measured: Use route records, participation, dedicated QR codes, offer codes, short URLs, bookings or store-visit data to create evidence for post-campaign review.
From enquiry to deployment: a typical schedule
The following is a common project timeline. Vehicle availability, design revisions, material supply and licensing can change the actual duration, but it provides a starting point for planning:
| Stage | Work involved | Suggested lead time |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Enquiry and requirements | Objectives, dates, operating hours, districts, budget and initial vehicle preferences | 1–3 working days |
| 2. Proposal and quotation | Vehicle recommendations, draft routes, an itemised scope and quotation | 2–5 working days |
| 3. Confirmation and booking | Confirm the quotation, reserve dates, sign the contract and arrange the deposit | Depends on the customer's internal procedures |
| 4. Design and content production | Vehicle artwork, LED videos, revisions and final approval | Design revisions are the most common source of delays; allow one to two weeks. |
| 5. Printing and installation | Print production, lamination, installation and inspection | General market information suggests around 14 days for vehicle printing and installation. |
| 6. Final routes and venue arrangements | Schedule, stationary displays, venue-use confirmation and staff briefing | 3–7 days before the event |
| 7. Event day | Scheduled driving, stationary displays, on-site promotion and photographic records | Daily hours as agreed in the contract |
| 8. Post-campaign review | Route records, photographs and videos, QR and promo-code data, and optimisation recommendations | 3–7 working days after the event |
For stage performances, temporary structures or food handling, statutory application deadlines may determine the entire schedule. Work backwards from them; see the legal section below.
We value verifiable campaign records
An advertising vehicle campaign should not be judged only by an assumption that many people saw it. A sound campaign needs records that can be checked: actual routes, operating times, stop durations, photos, video, playback content and QR-code or offer-code data.Verifiable delivery records give clients a basis for deciding whether to invest more next time.
We also recommend avoiding industry statistics with unclear sources. Circulating claims about outdoor advertising recall or attention often cannot be traced to an original methodology or sample. Your own campaign's QR-code, offer-code and store-visit data are more reliable than an unverifiable percentage.
For measuring results and interpreting CPM, GPS route reports and exposure figures, see Measuring Mobile Billboard Results: Public Cases and the Source of the 97% Recall Claim and Mobile Billboards vs Bus, MTR Lightbox, Tram and Taxi Advertising: Costs and ROI。
Hong Kong's 18 districts: coverage and local campaign planning
PEAKVEIN's mobile promotion service covers all 18 administrative districts: Central and Western, Wan Chai, Eastern, Southern, Yau Tsim Mong, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon City, Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong, Kwai Tsing, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, North, Tai Po, Sha Tin, Sai Kung and Islands.
However, covering all 18 districts is an administrative description, not a campaign strategy. Pedestrian flows and street conditions differ by area:
- Central, Admiralty, Wan Chai and Kowloon East business districts: Suitable for business, finance, B2B and professional services during weekday lunch and after-work periods.
- Causeway Bay, Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui: Suitable for retail, fashion, beauty, restaurants, entertainment, tourism and brands seeking broad attention.
- Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin, Kowloon City and Yau Tsim Mong: High residential density supports community services, store openings and local neighbourhood campaigns.
- Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, Tai Po, North and Sai Kung: Residents cluster around new-town centres, estates, shopping centres and MTR stations. Avoid wasting driving time simply to cover the whole district.
- Islands and tourist areas: Suitable for tourism, food, seasonal, leisure and destination campaigns, designed around actual transport, event arrangements and venue conditions.
Using official population data to choose areas
District selection should use evidence. According to the Census and Statistics Department's 2024 figures for the 18 districts, Sha Tin had the largest population at around 704,000, followed by Yuen Long at around 677,000 and Kwun Tong at around 668,000. By population density per unit of land area, Kwun Tong was the highest at around 59,000 people per square kilometre, followed by Sham Shui Po at around 47,000 and Wong Tai Sin at around 44,000. Lower-density areas included Islands, Tai Po and North.
| Official data measure | Relevant areas | Implications for mobile advertising |
|---|---|---|
| Largest populations | Sha Tin: about 704,000; Yuen Long: about 677,000; Kwun Tong: about 668,000 (2024) | Suitable for campaigns targeting residents. In the larger New Territories districts, focus on new-town centres rather than distributing driving time evenly across the whole area. |
| Highest population densities | Kwun Tong: about 59,000/km²; Sham Shui Po: about 47,000/km²; Wong Tai Sin: about 44,000/km² | More residents can be reached within the same driving time, supporting efficient opening, restaurant, community-service and distribution campaigns. |
| Lower population densities | Islands, Tai Po and North | Better suited to destination, tourism, seasonal or venue-specific events than broad population coverage. |
| Footfall beyond resident populations | Core business areas in Central and Western, Wan Chai and Yau Tsim Mong | Value comes mainly from daytime commuters, office workers and shoppers; plan by time of day rather than residential population alone. |
These figures come from the Census and Statistics Department's 2024 district population statistics and illustrate planning principles only. Actual routes are planned separately around campaign objectives, street conditions and traffic on the day.
The cost of harbour crossings, district changes and travel time
Travel time is itself a cost in Hong Kong. Harbour crossings, journeys between districts and peak-hour congestion consume usable hours. If only eight to nine hours are available and two are spent travelling to and from the area, effective exposure time falls by roughly a quarter.
We therefore usually recommend focusing each day on geographically connected areas and spreading cross-district activity over different days, rather than travelling from Tuen Mun to Chai Wan in a single day. A multi-day campaign might cover Kowloon East on day one, Kowloon West on day two and northern Hong Kong Island on day three, maximising useful exposure time each day.
For district density and commercial or community area selection, read Planning Mobile Billboard Campaigns Across Hong Kong's 18 Districts with Population Data。
Industries and applications
Promotional vehicles are not limited to one industry. A suitable campaign can be developed whenever a brand has a clear audience, area, time window and call to action.
| Industry or application | Common objectives | Possible vehicles and execution approach |
|---|---|---|
| Restaurants and food events | Lunch and dinner traffic, sampling, openings and seasonal promotion | Mini trucks for community reach; LED trucks for evening and business-area content; multi-purpose vehicles for sampling and interaction |
| Retail, fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands | New product displays, pop-ups, trials and social sharing | LED trucks for brand content; multi-purpose vehicles as mobile displays; vintage vans as photo focal points |
| Finance, insurance and professional services | Brand visibility, event registrations and business-district promotion | LED trucks during weekday lunch and after-work periods, with clear messages and compliance checks |
| Property and development promotion | Show-flat registrations, launch-day interest and local exposure | LED trucks for updated sales information; mini trucks for estates and neighbourhoods; stage trucks for larger events |
| Education, tutoring and interest classes | Enrolment, trial-class registrations and reaching parents | Mini trucks along parent routes around school dismissal; no parking at or near school entrances |
| Charities, community campaigns and non-profit events | Educational messages, QR-code participation and community contact | Multi-purpose and mini trucks with interaction, distribution and regular touring schedules |
| Product launches, exhibitions and major events | Pre-event promotion, on-site excitement and follow-up activity | LED trucks for countdowns and directing visitors; multi-purpose vehicles for displays; stage trucks for performances or ceremonies |
| Recruitment and talent campaigns | Reaching jobseekers in industrial areas, shopping centres and transport hubs | Mini or LED trucks through target working areas at lunch and after work, with QR-code applications |
| Apps, games and digital products | Downloads, registrations and limited-time campaign tasks | LED trucks with moving content and QR codes, stopping in shopping areas popular with younger audiences |
| Cars, appliances and large products | Physical displays, seated demonstrations, product trials and store appointments | Multi-purpose or exhibition vehicles as mobile showrooms, with sales staff and registrations |
A practical example: a three-day plan for a new restaurant
Suppose a restaurant opens in Kwun Tong's industrial area with a limited budget for three days. Instead of touring all Hong Kong on each day, a more focused approach is:
- The day before opening: A mini promotional truck tours within one kilometre of the restaurant, covering industrial buildings, homes and main pedestrian routes. The message gives only the opening date and address.
- Opening day: Before lunch, the vehicle stops in an approved area by the restaurant or another suitable location. Tasting vouchers and QR-code offers encourage immediate visits.
- The first weekend after opening: An LED truck shows food videos and weekend offers around key local shopping areas and transport points, reaching an audience beyond weekday customers.
The three days serve different purposes: awareness, conversion and wider reach. Total impressions may be lower than three days touring all Hong Kong, but the plan will often bring more actual customers into the restaurant.

Clear communication: what we establish before quoting
A mobile campaign budget involves more than the daily rental price. Suppliers differ in their definition of a day and their inclusions for graphics, staff, tunnel tolls, overtime, equipment and insurance. To avoid discovering budget gaps after work begins, clarify these points before requesting a quote:
- Campaign dates, number of days and daily operating hours
- Objectives: brand exposure, store traffic, sampling, registrations, product displays or performances
- Target areas, routes, harbour crossings and access to private venues
- LED screens, display equipment, sound, generators or on-site internet requirements
- Vehicle stickers, LED video, graphic design or brand content production
- MCs, promoters, supervisors, distribution staff or photography
- Sampling, food handling, performances, government land or shopping centre arrangements
- GPS route records, photos, video or campaign reports
- Suspension, replacement hours, postponement or refund arrangements for severe weather
Public market reference prices: establish a budget before comparing quotes
The following prices come from third-party public information about Hong Kong mobile advertising vehicle rental and help establish an initial budget. These are not PEAKVEIN prices; our formal quotation determines actual costs. They can, however, help identify quotes that differ substantially from market references.
| Vehicle type, as classified in public sources | Daily reference price | Weekly / monthly reference price |
|---|---|---|
| LED mobile advertising truck | Approximately HK$4,900–HK$5,500 | About HK$35,000 weekly; HK$90,000 monthly |
| Standard mobile advertising vehicle | Approximately HK$5,500 | About HK$35,000 weekly; HK$105,000 monthly |
| Small mobile advertising vehicle | Approximately HK$4,500 | About HK$29,000 monthly |
| Character-themed mobile advertising vehicle | Approximately HK$4,900 | About HK$32,585 monthly |
| Food truck | Approximately HK$4,000 | About HK$24,500 monthly |
Another public industry guide places standard LED truck daily hire at around HK$2,500–HK$5,500, generally including a driver, basic fuel and tunnel tolls, with overtime beyond standard daily hours charged separately. This helps explain why prices labelled LED daily hire can differ by almost double: vehicle dimensions, screens, usable hours and inclusions often differ.
How many hours are in a rental day?
At least two definitions are used in the market: some suppliers offer eight hours within a 10 am–10 pm window; others offer nine service hours starting on arrival at the target location. Overtime commonly costs around HK$200–HK$300 per hour. Therefore, compare usable daily hours and inclusions alongside the headline daily rate.
Two often-overlooked costs also matter. First, vehicle graphics are an upfront production cost, spread over more days on a longer booking, so the average daily cost can be much lower. Second, travel consumes usable operating hours: harbour crossings and journeys between districts trade exposure time for wider coverage.

These prices come from published Hong Kong rental-platform listings and industry analyses. They are market references, not PEAKVEIN quotations. The formal quote and contract determine actual charges.
Safety, regulations and event arrangements
Hong Kong mobile campaigns involve requirements covering vehicles, roads, venues, crowds, sound, food and event licences. PEAKVEIN helps clarify execution for each vehicle, route, venue and promotional format. Clients should also allow sufficient time for the relevant permissions and compliance work.
Vehicle graphics and LED installations
Graphics and additional equipment must not obstruct the driver's view, mandatory lights, reflectors or registration number, and must be installed securely. LED screens, roof equipment, display stands and structural changes require checks against the vehicle structure and applicable requirements.
Different vehicle types have separate advertising rules in Hong Kong. For example, the Transport Department has specific approval criteria for advertising on or inside taxis, defining permitted positions and conditions such as restrictions on protruding fittings. Advertising on public light buses and non-franchised buses also requires prior written approval and compliance with its conditions. This shows that vehicle advertising is governed according to vehicle type, use and display format, rather than one universal rule. Clients considering taxi, minibus or bus advertising should verify the requirements for each medium separately.
Routes and parking
Advertising vehicles can travel through target areas, but stopping is restricted in core shopping areas, bus stops, public light bus stands, taxi stands, tunnel areas, controlled areas and no-stopping zones.Touring and stationary displays require different arrangements.Sampling, distribution, displays and on-site events should preferably take place within shop premises, shopping centres, private sites, event venues or other approved locations.
This is a common source of misunderstanding. Hiring a vehicle does not mean it can remain for two hours at the busiest junction; prolonged stopping is often impractical in prime Hong Kong areas. A more reliable approach is to place stationary activities at managed venues and use street routes for mobile coverage, giving each a clear role.
Sound systems and loudspeakers
Vehicle sound systems and amplification must account for the surroundings, especially homes, schools and night-time conditions. Under section 5(1)(b) of the Noise Control Ordinance (Cap. 400), using a loudspeaker, megaphone or other amplifying device in domestic premises or a public place at any time is an offence if its noise causes annoyance amounting to a nuisance. This also applies to vehicle-mounted loudspeakers。
. The test is whether it causes annoyance, not simply whether the volume seems moderate. Plans should prioritise visual content, routes and lawful stopping arrangements, with careful control of volume and hours, particularly avoiding amplification in residential areas at night. As a reference, election guidelines prohibit loudspeaker use between 9 pm and 9 am; that timing principle is also useful when planning commercial vehicle campaigns.
Sampling, food and public entertainment
Reheating, cooking or selling food, and public entertainment such as stage performances, music or film screenings, may require licences or permissions. These processes often take longer than vehicle arrangements and should be considered before confirming dates.
For example, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department's Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence (TPPE)must be obtained before the proposed entertainment. Its application guide sets the following minimum advance application periods:
| Event type | Minimum application lead time |
|---|---|
| Events requiring temporary structures | At least 42 days |
| Events without temporary structures, other than dance parties | At least 18 days |
| Dance parties without temporary structures | At least seven working days |
Applicants must submit form FEHB104 and four copies of plans to the relevant FEHD District Environmental Hygiene Office, or five copies if laser equipment is involved. After acceptance in principle, the relevant Fire Services Department fire protection regional office may also need to address fire safety matters. If the event includes a stage truck performance, temporary stage or structures, the 42-day period is therefore the real starting point for project planning, ahead of vehicle availability.
Licences, insurance and responsibilities
Mobile campaigns also need arrangements for vehicle insurance, third-party liability and public liability. Shopping centres, private premises and event venues commonly require proof of public liability cover and written venue-use confirmation. Check required cover with your organisation or venue before confirming the event, so insufficient insurance is not discovered at the last minute.
This regulatory information draws on public Transport Department and FEHD materials and the Noise Control Ordinance. It is general information, not legal advice. Requirements vary by activity, location, vehicle and timing; follow current official guidance and the conditions of individual approvals.

Why clients choose PEAKVEIN
Promotional vehicles owned and designed by us
There is more than one vehicle option. We provide LED advertising truck、Mini promotional truck、Mobile showroom truck、Mobile stage truck、Mini vintage van and T2 pop-top van, combined according to each event's requirements.
Understanding Hong Kong routes and venues
Routes determine the value of a mobile campaign. We plan workable journeys around business and residential areas, shopping centres, estates, older districts, event venues and actual road conditions, rather than simply presenting a crowded route map.
Capabilities spanning exposure and interaction
Alongside vehicles, we coordinate graphics, LED content, displays, distribution, event staff, on-site management and Event production, making the vehicle an integrated part of the campaign.
Delivery records that can be checked
We recommend reviewing routes, photos, video, dedicated QR codes, offer codes and registration figures so future campaigns can improve through evidence rather than repeat the same approach.
Itemised quotations
Vehicle hire, usable daily hours, driver, fuel, tunnel tolls, graphics, LED content, staff, overtime and weather arrangements should be clearly separated. This shows clients what they are buying and supports internal approval and comparison.
Considering compliance early
For activities involving stopping, amplification, sampling, performances or temporary structures, we raise timing and arrangement requirements early, avoiding a last-minute discovery that statutory application deadlines cannot be met.
The best vehicle is the one that fits the event
A new restaurant may need a mini truck visiting nearby estates before dinner. A product launch may need an LED truck showing countdowns and product video. A shopping centre roadshow may need exhibition and stage trucks coordinated with event staff.PEAKVEIN turns the wish to promote a brand into a practical plan that can be deployed, delivered, tracked and reviewed.
Common mobile advertising terms
Industry terms often overlap, creating misunderstandings between clients and suppliers. These are common terms and their usual meanings:
| Term | Usual meaning |
|---|---|
| Advertising vehicle / promotional vehicle / mobile billboard | Different names for mobile promotional media using a vehicle to display advertisements |
| LED advertising truck / LED promotional truck / LED screen truck / large-screen advertising vehicle | An advertising vehicle fitted with an LED display for changeable video or image content |
| vehicle graphics | Static advertising painted, printed or applied as stickers to trucks, private cars or other commercial vehicles |
| Mobile exhibition vehicle / exhibition truck / showroom truck | An advertising vehicle with space for displays, trials, registrations or interaction |
| Mobile stage truck | A vehicle that opens or is configured into a stage for performances, ceremonies or an event focal point |
| Roadshow | A touring promotion in shopping centres, streets or selected locations, often combining vehicles, staff and interactive activities |
| Stationary display | A vehicle remains at an approved location for a period of display or interaction, separately arranged from touring coverage |
| Overtime charges | Additional charges beyond the standard daily hours in the contract, commonly billed hourly |
| CPM: cost per thousand impressions | Media cost divided by estimated impressions, multiplied by one thousand. It supports cross-media comparison, but outdoor exposure estimates vary substantially, so comparable measurement bases are essential. |
| TPPE | A Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence issued by FEHD, which may be required for public entertainment activities |

Frequently asked questions
What services does PEAKVEIN provide?
PEAKVEIN offers advertising vehicle rental, mobile promotion, LED screen trucks, mini promotional trucks, multi-purpose and exhibition vehicles, stage trucks, mini vintage vans, T2 pop-top vans, vehicle sticker design, manufacture and fitting, event planning, staffing and production in Hong Kong. Plans depend on objectives, dates, routes, venues, budget and interaction requirements. See the full range in Our services。
How much experience does PEAKVEIN have?
We have nearly ten years of promotional vehicle campaign experience and continue expanding our vehicle ranges to support product, service and brand promotion. Every promotional vehicle is owned and designed by us, rather than sublet through a third party.
Which areas do PEAKVEIN's mobile promotion services cover?
We serve all 18 Hong Kong administrative districts across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. Rather than measuring a campaign only by district count, plan routes around the audience, business and residential areas, pedestrian peaks, road conditions and stationary display needs. For local planning principles, see our campaign guide to all 18 districts。
Which district is best for a mobile billboard campaign?
No district is best for every brand. Census and Statistics Department figures for 2024 put Sha Tin's population at about 704,000, Yuen Long's at 677,000 and Kwun Tong's at 668,000. Kwun Tong had the highest density at about 59,000 people/km², followed by Sham Shui Po at 47,000 and Wong Tai Sin at 44,000. Dense districts allow more residents to be reached over shorter routes, suiting community and opening campaigns. Business districts derive value mainly from daytime commuters and shoppers, making timing especially important.
How should I start my first advertising truck rental?
Prepare six things: campaign objectives, dates and hours, target areas, budget, LED or vehicle design needs, and distribution or event staffing requirements. Contact us for vehicle, route, content and pricing recommendations. When comparing quotes, ask about usable daily hours, rental inclusions, production, staffing, overtime, tunnel tolls and weather arrangements.
How do I choose between an LED screen truck and a mini promotional truck?
Consider viewing distance, street conditions, content changes and interaction. For night-time impact, video, countdowns or same-day content changes, choose an LED truck; for estates, older areas or narrow streets requiring community access, supplies, distribution or sampling, choose a Mini promotional truck. Both can be combined when needed.
Can an advertising truck stop in a busy area for a stationary display?
Driving and stationary display are different arrangements. Parking restrictions apply in major commercial areas, at bus, public light bus and taxi stands, in tunnel areas, controlled areas and no-stopping zones; extended stops are often impractical. Tastings, distribution, displays and interaction are better arranged within store premises, malls, private property, event venues or approved locations, with public streets used for driving coverage.
Can promotional vehicles play music or use amplification for hawking?
This requires care. Section 5(1)(b) of the Noise Control Ordinance (Cap. 400) makes amplification in domestic premises or public places an offence at any time if its noise causes annoyance amounting to a nuisance. Vehicle-mounted loudspeakers are also covered. We recommend prioritising visual content, routes and lawful stationary locations, and avoiding amplification in residential areas at night.
What licences and lead times apply to stage performances or temporary structures?
A Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence (TPPE) from FEHD may be required. Its guide specifies applications at least 42 days before events with temporary structures; at least 18 days before events without them, other than dance parties; and at least seven working days before dance parties without structures. Submit FEHB104 and four copies of plans, or five if laser equipment is involved. For events with stage segments, this statutory deadline often determines the project schedule.
Can PEAKVEIN help with event production and staffing?
Yes. Alongside vehicles, PEAKVEIN provides event planning, sticker design, manufacture and fitting, staff recruitment and management, and related Event production arrangements. Raise sampling, performances, shopping centres, private venues or government land early so licences, venues and schedules can be coordinated.
Can I receive route records or on-site documentation afterwards?
Agree deliverables before the campaign. Depending on the arrangement, these can include actual routes, operating times, stop records, photos and video. Dedicated QR codes, offer codes, short URLs or registration pages also allow clients to measure scans, enquiries, visits and conversions.
How far ahead should promotional vehicles be booked?
This depends on availability, vehicle production and licensing. Allow at least one week for ordinary bookings. Market information suggests around 14 days for printing and fitting graphics, while performances, temporary structures, food handling or venue applications may require up to 42 days. Confirm earlier for Lunar New Year, Christmas, busy opening periods, major exhibitions and concerts.
What is included in advertising vehicle costs?
Inclusions vary. A typical daily rental may cover the vehicle, driver, fuel, one return tunnel journey and basic equipment. Graphics design, printing and fitting, LED content, overtime, extra tolls, staff, venues, insurance and licences are usually assessed separately. Request an itemised breakdown rather than relying on one daily price.
What are typical Hong Kong market prices?
Published rental-platform listings put LED truck hire at around HK$4,900–HK$5,500 daily, HK$35,000 weekly and HK$90,000 monthly; standard mobile advertising vehicles at around HK$5,500 daily and HK$105,000 monthly; and small vehicles at around HK$4,500 daily. Other public industry analyses give standard LED daily hire as HK$2,500–HK$5,500, generally including a driver, basic fuel and tolls. These are market references, not PEAKVEIN quotations. Actual costs follow the formal quote.
How many hours does one rental day include?
There are at least two approaches in the market: some suppliers specify 8 hours per day within a 10am–10pm window, while others specify 9 hours from arrival at the target location. Overtime commonly costs around HK$200–300 per hour. Compare the actual hours available, as the same daily rate can represent very different levels of service.
Is longer-term rental better value than short-term rental?
Usually, because vehicle graphics are an upfront cost. Design, printing and fitting are payable whether the vehicle is hired for one day or one month; longer bookings spread that cost across more days. For ongoing brand visibility rather than a one-day event, monthly rental often has a significantly lower average daily cost. What happens in severe weather?
The contract should specify this in advance. Common arrangements include suspending routes during typhoon or rainstorm warnings, then providing replacement hours, rescheduling or adjusting charges according to the circumstances. Because weather affects dates and budgets, agree the terms with the quotation rather than waiting until the event day.
