How big is a 26-inch screen?

“26 inches” describes the diagonal, not the width. At 16:9, the following dimensions help designers choose text sizes and layouts:

ItemCalculated sizeCalculation
Screen widthApproximately 576 mm26 inches × 0.8716, the 16:9 width factor
Screen heightApproximately 324 mm26 inches × 0.4903, the 16:9 height factor
Display areaApproximately 0.19 m²0.576 × 0.324
Aspect ratio16:9(1.78 : 1)Standard television aspect ratio

The actual difference between three screens

PEAKVEIN's fleet offers three display options. Their areas differ much more than diagonal measurements suggest. Use this comparison to choose:

Vehicle typeScreenDisplay areaRelative to 26 inchesViewing distance
Mini vintage van26-inch TVApproximately 0.19 m²1× baselineOne to two metres in front of the vehicle
Mobile showroom truck65-inch TVApproximately 1.16 m²Approximately 6.2×One to three metres inside the cabin
LED advertising truckP3 LED, approximately 3.5 × 1.8 mApproximately 6.3 m²Approximately 33.8×Three to six metres or more on the street

The conclusion is clear: a 26-inch TV is not intended for visibility at a distance. It adds product and event information after the retro body attracts people close to the vehicle. Choose LED if your main goal is to be seen by more people; 26 inches can be enough if you want nearby visitors to learn more.

The standard 16:9 TV ratio means typical 1920 × 1080 videos can be used directly without the special canvas dimensions needed for an LED truck.

These are geometric reference calculations based on a 26-inch diagonal and 16:9 ratio. Confirm the actual model, viewable size, resolution, inputs and formats against the booked vehicle's specifications.

What is a mini vintage van?

It is a small promotional vehicle whose main appeal is its retro appearance, also called a retro advertising van or vintage promotional van. Beyond mobile advertising space, the vehicle itself creates a distinctive brand setting for photography and sharing。

Unlike an LED truck focused on display area, it attracts attention through styling, atmosphere and interaction. The 26-inch TV and external speakers add product information and ambience.

Vintage vehicle registration and road use in Hong Kong

This explains why road-legal vintage vehicles are limited, availability can be tight and each vehicle's documents need individual confirmation.

Classic Car Movement Permit

The Transport Department offers a Classic Car Movement Permit with a designated application form, TD371A. Confirm each vehicle's registration class, permit status and permitted road use from its documents, rather than appearance or age alone.

Licensing exemption for collector vehicles

Under relevant Transport Department registration and licensing arrangements, owners may apply for an exemption for vehicles manufactured at least 30 years ago, properly kept for collection on private land, in a private parking space or at rented storage with at least one year remaining, and not used on roads.

Some Hong Kong vintage vehicles are therefore collector-only vehicles that do not go on the road. Consequently, the number that may lawfully operate on roads and be used commercially is relatively limited, helping explain why vintage bookings often fill earlier than ordinary advertising vehicles.

Three practical recommendations for hirers

  • Do not book from photos alone.A retro van that can drive on roads differs from one requiring transport to the venue, affecting delivery costs and access arrangements.
  • Ask about use restrictions early.State before quotation whether the vehicle needs to drive into a shopping centre, follow a particular route or carry people.
  • Secure dates earlier than for ordinary advertising vehicles.Wedding peaks, Christmas, Lunar New Year and busy brand-event periods often fill vintage-vehicle calendars earlier than LED trucks.

This background comes from published Transport Department information and is not legal advice. Registration class, permits, permitted road use and restrictions depend on the vehicle's documents and current Transport Department rules.

Use Cases

Which events suit a mini vintage van?

Shopping-centre photo areas

Use the retro body as the main event visual and photo backdrop, with flowers, props, lighting and branded scenery.

Store openings and ceremonies

Park in front of the store as a visual focal point, show brand videos and distribute opening offers. See Practical strategies for store openings。

Fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands

Retro styling works well with fashion photography, new collections, seasonal themes and collaborations.

Weddings and private events

Use it for decoration, a welcome area or as a photography prop.If carrying people, first confirm the vehicle's passenger-transport permissions as described in the legal requirements below.

Coffee, desserts and food promotions

A vintage van adds atmosphere to tastings and distribution. Confirm licensing and venue requirements for food handling or sales. See Restaurant Promotion Strategies。

Neighbourhood and festival tours

The compact body suits approved neighbourhood locations and housing-estate event areas.

Brand videos and advertising shoots

Use it as a prop or setting with coordinated styling, lighting and venue arrangements. Shoots often run long, so allow sufficient hire hours.

Exhibitions and carnivals

Create a visual highlight beside a booth to attract visitors and make the stand recognisable.

Company anniversaries and staff events

Use it as a group-photo backdrop, awards setting or company-culture display for internal events worth recording.

Travel, camping and outdoor brands

Retro vans evoke camping and road trips, making them suitable for travel, outdoor clothing and equipment brands.

Markets and creative events

Create a stallholder's main visual or brand collaboration point suited to crafts, creative businesses and local brands.

E-commerce and social content production

Use the vehicle as a product-shoot setting, creating several content sets in one hire to reduce the cost per photograph.

Multi-vehicle coordination and overall production can be handled through Event production team; for vehicle comparisons, see Five Vehicle Types Compared: A Selection Guide。

How should the 26-inch TV and external speakers be used?

Keep TV content short and clear

The screen suits viewers a few steps from the vehicle. Use large text, few words and high contrast; avoid small type and dense paragraphs. At approximately 0.19 m², fine detail is largely unreadable from two metres away.

Suggested content

  • Brand name and one core benefit
  • Product visuals or a short demonstration
  • Event time, location and offer
  • A clear QR code or short URL
  • Short loops so passers-by can see a complete message

Screen orientation and aspect ratio

The standard 16:9 TV generally accepts 1920 × 1080 landscape content directly. Vertical 9:16 social clips leave large black margins. Confirm orientation, ratio, inputs and formats to avoid margins or cropped important content.

Using external speakers

Set volume for the venue and time, especially near homes, schools and hospitals or at night. Under section 5(1)(b) of the Noise Control Ordinance (Cap. 400), using a loudspeaker, megaphone or other sound-amplifying device at any time in domestic premises or a public place is an offence if the noise causes annoyance amounting to a nuisance to any person. Vehicle-mounted loudspeakers are also covered.

The test is whether noise causes a nuisance, not simply whether it seems quiet enough. Vintage events primarily rely on visuals and photography, so use light background music or brief explanations rather than active amplified selling.

Generator arrangements

If venue power is unavailable, a generator can be hired separately. Confirm placement, ventilation, noise, safety distances, fuel and venue permission. Some equipment draws much more current at startup than during operation, so adding rated watts alone can cause tripping on startup; indoor venues generally do not accept petrol generators and require another power arrangement.

Vehicle graphics and photo-area planning

Preserving the retro character is key

The vehicle's styling is its appeal, so avoid covering the entire body with large advertising stickers. Preserve its lines and colour, adding logos and short messages to doors, side panels or agreed areas.

Comparing four branding approaches

MethodMessage areaRisk to bodyworkSuitable situations
Permanent full-body graphicsLargestHigh; difficult to reverseGenerally not recommended for vintage vehicles
Removable stickersMedium to largeMedium; test the paint firstShort events needing a larger visual
Magnetic panelsMediumLow, but requires suitable metal panelsRotating brands or frequent changes
External displays and signsMediumLowest; no paint contactWeddings, shoots and high-value vehicles

Define a clear photo position

Plan where visitors stand, the camera angle and backdrop, ensuring the brand name is clearly visible in photos so shared images carry the brand. Take test photos from the intended position and check that branding is immediately visible on a phone screen.

Decoration and safety

Secure flowers, balloons, lighting, props and backdrops without obstructing the driver's view, lights, reflectors, registration marks, access routes or emergency exits. Account for wind acting on lightweight outdoor decorations.

Follow official procedures for vehicle modifications

Before adding equipment, brackets or structural changes, government guidance sets out these steps:

  1. Consult the manufacturer or agent in advance to confirm the proposed modification is permitted.
  2. Consult the insurance agent in advance to avoid affecting coverage.
  3. Ensure compliance with applicable law, including the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374) and Road Traffic (Construction and Maintenance of Vehicles) Regulations (Cap. 374A).
  4. Apply to the Transport Department's Vehicle Safety and Standards Division with the manufacturer's modification-approval documents.
  5. After approval in principle, use the manufacturer, agent or a reputable private garage. The modified vehicle may require final Transport Department approval, depending on the assessment.

The insurance step is easily overlooked. Unnotified modifications can affect coverage, especially for vintage vehicles. Most events therefore use stickers, magnetic graphics or attached decorations without structural changes.

Give visitors a reason to share

Use an event hashtag, instant photo printing, QR gift redemption or a draw to turn photography into measurable participation. Data collected for later promotion must meet the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance's direct-marketing requirements. See Mobile showroom truck page.

These procedures come from government and Transport Department guidance and are general information, not legal or engineering advice. Confirm permitted modifications, documents and approvals with the Vehicle Safety and Standards Division and the manufacturer or agent.

For vehicle production methods and timing, see The complete advertising truck production process。

Legal requirements for weddings and passenger transport

This is a common question and a frequent source of problems.Using a vintage vehicle as wedding decoration and using it to transport the couple are legally distinct activities.

Passenger carriage for hire or reward requires a Hire Car Permit

Under the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374), section 52(3)prohibits driving or using a motor vehicle, or allowing another person to do so, for carriage of passengers for hire or reward without a valid Hire Car Permit。

Breach is an offence:

  • First conviction: Level 3 fine, HK$10,000, and six months' imprisonment
  • Subsequent conviction: Level 4 fine, HK$25,000, and 12 months' imprisonment

Under regulation 14(1) of the Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations (Cap. 374D), the Commissioner for Transport may issue a Hire Car Permit authorising specified passenger services for hire or reward in a private car; permits are issued only to registered private-car owners. Common categories include Tour Service Hire Car Permits for approved travel-agent services and Private Service (Limousine) Hire Car Permits.

The Transport Department's online Hire Car Permit enquiry system allows a registration-number search to check whether a private car has a valid permit.

Distinguishing the two uses

UsePassenger carriage for hire or reward?Practical arrangements
Stationary decoration, welcome area or photo backdropNoFocus on venue approval, positioning and safe decoration
Couple photographed in or beside a stationary vehicleNoAs above, plus safe access and securely fixed decorations
Transporting the couple, wedding party or guestsPotentiallyConfirm a valid Hire Car Permit first
Carrying passengers during an event tourPotentiallyAs above, plus route and parking arrangements

Practical advice

  • Explain the intended use when enquiring.“For a wedding” is insufficient: decoration, photography or transport? That distinction determines feasibility.
  • Do not assume a short lift is acceptable.Even a short trip without a separate fare remains regulated if it constitutes carriage for hire or reward.
  • Arrange a permitted vehicle separately if transport is needed.A practical approach is to use the vintage van for decoration and photos, with a vehicle holding a Hire Car Permit handling transport.
  • Insurance must match the use.Passenger transport and display-only insurance differ; confirm with the insurance agent.

These provisions and penalties come from the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374), Road Traffic (Public Service Vehicles) Regulations (Cap. 374D) and published Transport Department information. This is general information, not legal advice. Confirm whether an arrangement constitutes carriage for hire or reward and the required permit with the Transport Department; its website lists Public Vehicles Unit contacts. Have your legal adviser review the arrangement.

Venue, parking and regulatory considerations

Stationary displays need a suitable location

Photo and display activities require the vehicle to remain in place. Stopping may be prohibited at bus, minibus and taxi stops, pedestrian crossings, expressways, tunnels, controlled areas and no-stopping zones; do not assume you can set up freely beside a road in a major commercial district。

Venue feasibility checklist

A compact vintage vehicle still needs a full access check. Send these items to venue management together:

Item to checkCommon pitfalls
Goods entrance and route clear heightBeams, sprinklers and signs reduce usable clearance
Route width and turning spaceA wide straight section may still lead to an impassable 90-degree turn
Ground and floor load capacityAtriums, raised floors and rooftops have load limits
Ramps, thresholds and level changesVintage vehicles often have low ground clearance and can scrape
Display footprint including camera setbackAllowing only the vehicle footprint can leave queues obstructing access
Arrival and removal windowsAccess may be limited to before opening or after closing
Power supply and generator permissionIndoor venues generally reject petrol generators
Fire and emergency accessQueues blocking access can lead to removal
Insurance requirements and minimum coverageDiscovering inadequate coverage just before the event
Volume limits and permitted hoursVenue rules may be stricter than legislation
Permitted decoration and installation methodsThe venue may prohibit attachment to floors or walls
Waste, cleaning and reinstatementUncleared floral waste can lead to deposit deductions

Private venues and shopping centres

Obtain management approval for shopping centres, estates, hotels, schools and private premises. Venues may request vehicle details, insurance, risk assessments, access times, cleaning plans and an on-site contact. Submit dimensions, weight, photos and insurance together to reduce delays.

Government land

Government-land events may require District Lands Office permission. The Lands Department approves use of land it manages through these offices, checking availability and consulting on safety, environmental impacts, pedestrian and vehicle arrangements and local views. Community, organisational and non-profit uses may use LAO-001.Land-use approval and event licensing are separate processes; address both.

Public entertainment licensing

Performances, concerts, exhibitions or other public entertainment may need a Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence. FEHD guidance generally requires at least 42 days for temporary structures, 18 days without structures for non-dance events, and seven working days for dance parties without structures. Submit FEHB104 and four sets of plans, or five if lasers are involved.

Section 4 of the Places of Public Entertainment Ordinance (Cap. 172) prohibits operating or using an unlicensed place of public entertainment. Conviction carries a Level 4 fine, HK$25,000, and six months' imprisonment, plus HK$2,000 per day for a continuing offence.

Food and drink sampling

Reheating, cooking or selling food may require a Temporary Food Factory Licence under FEHD guidance. The licence lasts no more than seven days and costs HK$220. Submit form FEHB 201A for individuals or FEHB 201B for companies, with proposed layout plans, at least 12 working days before the intended start date.

Weather considerations

Rain directly affects outdoor photography, distribution, decorations and visitor dwell time. The Labour Department's adverse-weather code advises suspending outdoor work as soon as practicable and arranging safe shelter when an Amber, Red or Black Rainstorm Warning is issued during working hours. Specify make-up time and refunds in the contract.

This information comes from published Transport Department, FEHD, Lands Department and Labour Department materials, the Places of Public Entertainment Ordinance and the Noise Control Ordinance. It is general information, not legal advice.

How is mini vintage van hire priced?

Total cost = vehicle hire + days and daily hours + vehicle graphics and decorations + generator if needed + TV content production + on-site staff + transport and parking + overtime + insurance, venue and licences + weather contingency.

Vintage vehicle costs work differently from advertising trucks

Conventional vehicle costs centre on printing and daily hire. With vintage vehicles, Full-body wraps are generally discouraged, so graphic production may cost less, while access, positioning, setup, protection and restoration take more staff time. A three-day shopping-centre display may need half a day each for arrival/setup and removal; these become major costs.

Vintage vehicles may also have higher values and stricter venue and insurance requirements. Resolve these during quotation.

Main factors affecting the quote

  • Event date, including weekday, weekend, holiday and peak-season differences
  • Days, daily hours and whether setup time is included
  • Location, distance, harbour crossings and parking
  • Whether the vehicle drives in or needs separate transport
  • Generator hire and required operating hours
  • Stickers, decorations, flowers, props and backdrops
  • TV video, images and QR content
  • Promoters, assistants, models and photographers
  • Sampling, sales, passenger transport and performances
  • Venue deposits, insurance, cleaning and restoration
  • Rescheduling, overtime and adverse weather

What to compare in quotations

Confirm usable hours, whether setup and removal count, generator charges, production inclusion, overtime and delays. Identical daily rates may cover very different services. Published Hong Kong rental-platform rates list small mobile advertising vehicles at about HK$4,500 per day or HK$29,000 per month. Vintage vehicles serve a brand-image role, so their pricing is not directly comparable.

These published rates are market references, not PEAKVEIN quotations or actual vintage-vehicle prices.

For pricing methods, see Complete advertising vehicle cost guide and Daily, weekly and monthly hire comparison。

How can event results be measured?

  • Photography and sharing: People taking photos, event hashtags, social posts and tags
  • On-site participation: Visitors stopping, handouts, trials, gifts and game participation
  • Digital attribution: Dedicated QR codes, discount codes, short links and registration pages
  • Business conversions: Memberships, store visits, appointments, orders and follow-up enquiries
  • Content assets: Event photos and videos for later advertising and social content

A distinctive vintage-vehicle metric: usable content produced

This value is easily underestimated compared with other vehicle types.Photos and videos from one event can support social posts, adverts, e-commerce pages and email campaigns for months.Measure usable assets as well as on-site participation. A day producing 30 useful product photos and three short videos may achieve a lower cost per asset than a separate studio hire.

Prepare a shot list—product details, wide scenes, interactions and video B-roll—so the photographer captures the required angles before the event ends.

Go beyond estimated exposure

Hong Kong has no shared, publicly audited outdoor-advertising exposure standard. Assess vintage events through countable photos, participation, scans and conversions. The “97% mobile advertising recall” claim comes from an overseas study around 2002, with a different period, market and method; it should not be a performance promise.

For examples, see Public case studies and performance measurement。

Mini vintage van FAQs

What is a mini vintage van?

A compact promotional vehicle whose main appeal is retro styling, also called a retro advertising or vintage promotional van. Beyond mobile advertising, it is often used for photo opportunities, shoots and brand displays. The vehicle itself creates a distinctive brand setting.

What equipment is provided?

Confirmed equipment includes external speakers and a 26-inch TV, with optional generator hire. Other equipment is not standard; request and confirm it before quotation.

What are the dimensions of the 26-inch TV?

The diagonal is 26 inches. At 16:9 it is approximately 576 mm wide and 324 mm high, with a 0.19 m² display area. The exhibition truck's 65-inch TV is about 1.16 m², or 6.2 times larger, and the LED truck's P3 screen is about 6.3 m², or 33.8 times larger. The small TV informs nearby visitors rather than providing distant exposure.

Is generator hire included?

Not necessarily. Confirm whether it is needed, operating hours, position, noise restrictions and venue permission. Startup current can exceed normal running power, and indoor venues generally do not accept petrol generators.

What content suits the 26-inch TV?

Short, close-range content such as the brand name, core benefit, product images, offers and QR codes. Use large text, high contrast and short loops, avoiding long paragraphs. Fine detail on its approximately 0.19 m² display is largely unreadable from two metres.

What video format is needed?

The standard 16:9 TV generally supports 1920 × 1080 landscape content without a special LED canvas. Vertical 9:16 social clips leave large margins and should be adapted. Confirm and test inputs, file formats and playback methods.

How loud can the external speakers be?

Control volume for the venue and hours and follow its rules. Section 5(1)(b) of the Noise Control Ordinance (Cap. 400) prohibits amplified noise in domestic premises or public places at any time if it causes annoyance amounting to a nuisance; vehicle-mounted speakers are covered. Use light background music or brief explanations rather than amplified selling.

Can we add branded vehicle graphics?

Yes, but preserve the retro styling with logos and brief messages in agreed areas rather than a full wrap. Options include removable stickers, with paint testing; magnetic panels, for suitable metal areas; and separate display stands that do not touch paint. Do not obstruct visibility, lights, reflectors or registration marks.

How should I choose among four branding methods?

Full wraps provide the most message space but pose the highest bodywork risk and are generally discouraged for vintage vehicles. Removable stickers offer medium-to-large space and moderate risk for short events. Magnetic panels are low-risk and quick to change but require magnetic metal surfaces. Separate displays and stands avoid paint contact and suit weddings, shoots and valuable vehicles.

Can we add flowers, balloons or props?

Yes, subject to prior confirmation of feasibility, attachment, secure fixing, venue rules and weather. Keep access and emergency exits clear. Consider wind acting on lightweight outdoor decorations; some venues prohibit fixing decorations to floors or walls.

What is the process for adding equipment or modifying the vehicle?

Government guidance advises consulting the manufacturer or agent and insurance agent first, ensuring compliance with Cap. 374 and Cap. 374A, and applying to the Transport Department's Vehicle Safety and Standards Division with manufacturer approval. Modify only after approval in principle; final inspection may be required. Most events use stickers or attachments without structural alterations.

Can it be used for a wedding?

Yes, but distinguish the purpose.Stationary decoration, welcome areas, photo backdrops and photos of the couple in or beside a stationary vehicle do not involve passenger transport and primarily require venue approval, suitable positioning and safe decoration. Transporting the couple, wedding party or guests may constitute carriage for hire or reward and requires confirmation of a valid Hire Car Permit.

What rules apply to transporting the wedding couple?

Section 52(3) of the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374) prohibits passenger carriage for hire or reward without a valid Hire Car Permit. Breach is an offence: a first conviction carries a Level 3 fine of HK$10,000 and six months' imprisonment; subsequent convictions carry a Level 4 fine of HK$25,000 and 12 months. Permits under regulation 14(1) of Cap. 374D are issued only to registered private-car owners. Check permit validity through the Transport Department's online registration-number enquiry system.

Is a short trip without a separate fare acceptable?

Do not assume so. If the arrangement constitutes carriage for hire or reward, the law applies regardless of distance or separate charging. A practical approach is to use the vintage vehicle for decoration and photography, with a vehicle holding a Hire Car Permit handling transport. Insurance must match actual use; confirm with the insurance agent.

Does Hong Kong have special vintage-vehicle registration arrangements?

Yes. The Transport Department offers a Classic Car Movement Permit using TD371A. Owners may also seek an exemption for vehicles at least 30 years old, properly stored for collection on private land, in private parking or rented storage, and not used on roads. Road-legal vintage vehicles suitable for commercial events are therefore relatively limited and often book early.

Can it be used indoors in a shopping centre?

Obtain approval and confirm goods access, clear height, turns, ground and floor loading, access times, power, fire safety and insurance. A compact body helps, but low vintage-vehicle ground clearance makes ramps, thresholds and level changes prone to scraping. Measure on site.

What should the venue check?

Check at least twelve items: entrance and route height; width and turns; ground and floor loading; ramps, thresholds and level changes; display footprint including camera setback; access windows; power and generator permission; fire and emergency access; insurance and minimum cover; volume limits and hours; permitted decoration methods; and waste, cleaning and reinstatement.

Can it stop for photos by the roadside in Mong Kok or Causeway Bay?

Do not assume so. Major commercial districts have parking restrictions, and stopping may be prohibited at bus, minibus and taxi stops, crossings, expressways, tunnels, controlled areas and no-stopping zones. Arrange photo activities on private premises, at shopping centres, within shop boundaries or at approved locations.

Can we hold an event on government land?

Yes, subject to application to the relevant District Lands Office. The Lands Department approves land it manages through these offices, checking availability and consulting on safety, environmental impacts, pedestrian and vehicle arrangements and local views. Community, organisational and non-profit uses may use LAO-001. Land approval and event licensing are separate parallel processes.

Can we offer drink or food samples?

Assess the activity first. Reheating, cooking or selling food may require a Temporary Food Factory Licence, valid for no more than seven days at HK$220. Submit FEHB 201A or FEHB 201B with proposed layout plans at least 12 working days before the start. Confirm food sources, equipment, water, drainage, hygiene and venue requirements early.

Do performances require a licence?

Possibly. Performances, concerts, exhibitions and other public entertainment may require a Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence. Apply at least 42 days ahead with temporary structures, 18 days without structures for non-dance events, or seven working days for dance parties without structures. Section 4 of Cap. 172 makes unlicensed operation or use an offence, carrying HK$25,000 and six months' imprisonment, plus HK$2,000 per day for a continuing offence.

How does the mini vintage van differ from the T2 pop-top van?

Both have retro appeal. The smaller mini vintage van supports short movements and includes a 26-inch TV and external speakers, suiting markets, fashion, beauty, shoots and shopping-centre photos. The T2 primarily provides stationary decoration; its opening roof creates distinctive angles and openness for entrances and main photo areas. Combine them for a coordinated vintage fleet.

How should I choose between this and a mini promotional truck?

Choose the vintage van for styling, atmosphere and photography. For neighbourhood coverage and efficient distribution, a Mini promotional truck is usually more direct, with solar power, Wi-Fi and a maximum load up to 1,000 kg for supplies. They can share a campaign: the vintage van anchors the photo area while the promotional truck distributes nearby.

How far ahead should we book?

Vintage availability is limited, so book early. Stickers take around 14 days; decorations and shopping-centre approval, generally two to four weeks, need lead time. Performances or structures may involve a 42-day statutory application period. Enquire one or two months ahead, or earlier, for holidays, wedding peaks and large events.

Can you arrange event staff?

Promoters, assistants, models or photographers can manage photo queues, supplies, product explanations and registration. Section 40 of the Employees' Compensation Ordinance requires insurance for all employees regardless of contract length, hours or full-time or part-time status. Specify responsibilities in the contract.

Will rain affect the event?

Yes. Outdoor photos, distribution, decorations and electronics are affected, especially flowers and paper props. Arrange covered space or a backup date and specify suspension and make-up time in the contract. The Labour Department's adverse-weather code advises suspending outdoor work as soon as practicable if an Amber, Red or Black Rainstorm Warning is issued during working hours.

How should vintage-vehicle results be measured?

Use four levels: execution records, including display hours, photos and setup completion; on-site data, including photographers, dwell time, handouts and gifts; attribution through dedicated QR codes, hashtags, discount codes or memberships; and usable content produced. Event photos and videos can support social, advertising and e-commerce content for months, often at a lower cost per asset than a separate studio hire.

How is the price calculated?

Pricing covers dates, days, hours, location, transport, parking, generator, graphics, decorations, video, staff, insurance, venue, overtime and weather contingency. Vintage vehicles differ from ordinary advertising trucks: graphics may cost less, while access, positioning, setup, protection and restoration often dominate staff costs.
