Mobile Advertising Services

Hong Kong Advertising Truck Rental, Mobile Promotion and Event Production

From LED screen trucks, mini promotional trucks, mobile exhibitions, vintage vans and stage trucks to graphics, routes, staff and on-site delivery, we provide complete mobile campaigns tailored to brand objectives across all 18 Hong Kong districts.

Planning the complete mobile campaign, beyond vehicle hire

PEAKVEIN provides comprehensive promotional vehicle campaign management: initial concepts, vehicle selection, graphics, LED content, routes and timing, event staffing, on-site delivery and post-event records.

Our promotional vehicles are owned and designed by us. Each type serves a different purpose, beyond simply choosing a large, medium or small vehicle:

  • For video, countdowns or offers updated on the day: choose an LED screen truck.
  • For estates, older districts, narrow streets and distribution: choose a mini promotional truck.
  • For product displays, trials, registrations or a mobile pop-up: choose a multi-purpose promotional truck.
  • For performances, ceremonies, talks or major promotions: choose a stage truck.
  • For photos, a retro image and brand interest: choose a mini vintage van or T2 pop-top van.

No single advertising vehicle suits every event. An effective plan considers the vehicle, audience, viewing distance, route, timing, content format, venue conditions and budget together.

Three principles we often share with clients

First, identify who needs to see the message before deciding where to go.Routes follow from the strategy. Once the audience, timing and call to action are clear, the choices narrow to a few sensible options.

Second, touring and stationary activity serve different purposes.Touring provides coverage and repeat exposure; stationary activity supports time spent, interaction and conversion. Prime business areas often restrict parking, making extended stops impractical. Place stationary activities at managed venues and use street routes for mobile coverage.

Third, travel time is itself a cost.If eight to nine hours are available and two are spent on return harbour journeys, useful exposure falls by roughly a quarter. Focusing on neighbouring areas and dividing cross-district activity between days usually works better than touring all Hong Kong in one day.

Comparing the six vehicle types

Vehicle type Main advantage Can content change? Production lead time Street and venue requirements Suitable uses
LED advertising truck Illuminated display with strong night visibility Yes; supply new digital files Shortest; only content production is needed Best suited to main roads, shopping districts and event venues Launches, openings, seasonal and night-time campaigns
Mini promotional truck Small, agile and able to carry supplies No; vehicle graphics need to be remade Around 14 days for vehicle printing and installation Suited to estates, older districts and narrow streets Communities, store openings, restaurants and education enrolment
Mobile showroom truck Display and interaction space Vehicle graphics need remaking; display layouts can change Depends on graphics and display production requirements Needs a lawful stopping location and room to open out Exhibitions, pop-ups, showrooms and roadshows
Mobile stage truck A ready-to-use performance platform Depends on the set and programme Licensing often takes longer than production Needs a venue, opening space and event arrangements Major events, openings and brand launches
Mini vintage van Retro styling and photographic appeal Removable stickers or external displays are preferable Depends on decoration; generally shorter Relatively flexible, subject to the vehicle and venue Fashion, beauty, coffee and brand collaborations
T2 pop-top van Pop-top styling and stationary decoration Decoration can be adapted for each event Depends on decoration and generator arrangements Mainly stationary venue or event displays Event entrances, weddings and brand focal points

Vehicle selection should consider more than size. Ask how far away viewers will be, whether the target streets accommodate large vehicles, whether content needs same-day changes and whether distribution, displays or performances are planned.

Four questions to choose your vehicle

Question If the answer is… Consider
1. How far away are viewers? Pedestrians at a close distance of 3–6 metres LED truck(P3 suits close viewing and is especially useful for stationary displays)
More than ten metres away, mainly passing traffic Large vehicle graphics or a larger vehicle body
2. How wide are the target streets? Estate access roads, narrow older streets or private access routes Mini promotional truck
3. Will content change? Countdowns, daily offers or confidential product launches LED truck
One key visual for one or several months Traditional vehicle graphics, with a lower average daily cost
4. Will there be on-site interaction? Trials, registrations, displays or transactions Mobile showroom truck
Performances, MCs or ceremonies Mobile stage truck

Beyond vehicle hire, we provide management and production services according to the event. Clients may hire just a vehicle or combine the vehicle, design, staff and delivery in one plan.

Event planning and programme

Plan the concept, vehicle roles, campaign stages, on-site programme, call to action and measurement around brand objectives.

Route and timing planning

Create workable routes around audiences, business and residential areas, meal periods, commuting peaks, holidays and road conditions.

Vehicle sticker design, manufacture and fitting

Vehicle visuals, panel-layout artwork, printing, application, removal and production required by the chosen vehicle.

LED advertising content production

Prepare images, video, countdowns, offers, event information and timed playlists for the screen's actual pixels and proportions.

Event staff recruitment and management

Arrange staff, supervisors, promoters, assistants, models, MCs or other on-site personnel as required.

Event liaison and on-site coordination

Coordinate vehicles, staff, playback content, venues, access, schedules and delivery on the day.

Promotional decorations and leaflet production

Key visuals, vehicle decorations, display boards, leaflets, redemption vouchers, offer codes, QR codes and other promotional materials.

Event location arrangements

Identify suitable, lawful stationary locations in shopping centres, private premises, shop areas, event venues or other approved sites.

Custom samples and gifts

Prepare supplies for food sampling, product trials, membership registrations, QR-code gifts and brand interaction.

Event furniture and games equipment

Produce or hire furniture, displays and interactive games suited to the vehicle space, venue and programme.

Event photography and delivery records

Arrange photos, video, routes, stop records and post-event summaries to meet project requirements.

Performance tracking design

Connect street exposure with scans, store visits and sales through dedicated QR codes, offer codes, short URLs, phone numbers or registration pages.

Mention stages, sampling, shopping centre venues, government land or large crowds when enquiring, so locations, licences, insurance and schedules can be assessed together. See Event production services。

Promotional vehicle production and customisation

Alongside our existing rental vehicles, we can plan custom promotional vehicles for a client's brand, vehicle and event. Production may include graphics, stickers, interior displays, LED screens, power, sound, product displays and other equipment.

Vehicle design and panel layouts

Doors, windows, wheel arches, handles and curves mean a flat advertisement cannot simply be enlarged and applied. Use the actual vehicle layout, avoiding the driver's view, mandatory lighting, reflectors and registration number.

Vehicle wraps and materials

Wraps commonly provide a vehicle's branding. A key visual without dates, years or short-term offers can be reused across events to reduce cumulative production costs. Vintage vehicles are better suited to removable stickers, magnetic panels or external displays to protect the original bodywork.

LED screens and content

LED conversions involve screen dimensions, pixel pitch, brightness, resolution, fixings, power, overall vehicle height and playback systems. The Transport Department's guidance on vehicle alterations advises consulting the manufacturer or agent first. Confirm technical and regulatory feasibility before designing structural or equipment changes.

Working backwards to plan production

Market information suggests around 14 days for printing and fitting vehicle graphics. When the event date is fixed, work backwards from it:

  • 14 days before the event: stickers should be printed and fitting should begin.
  • 21–28 days before: finalise the design with no further changes.
  • 35 days before: begin design and confirm actual vehicle dimensions and panel layouts.
  • For public entertainment involving temporary structures: 42 days before the event is already the minimum statutory application lead time, so begin earlier.

If the event is less than two weeks away, artwork is unfinished or content may change, an existing LED advertising truck is more suitable, using digital files instead of producing physical vehicle graphics.

Routes and campaign strategies across Hong Kong's 18 districts

PEAKVEIN's mobile promotion service covers all 18 administrative districts: Central and Western, Wan Chai, Eastern, Southern, Yau Tsim Mong, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon City, Wong Tai Sin, Kwun Tong, Kwai Tsing, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long, North, Tai Po, Sha Tin, Sai Kung and Islands.

Using official population data to choose districts

According to the Census and Statistics Department's 2024 district population figures, the largest population was in Sha Tin, at around 704,000, followed by Yuen Long, at around 677,000 and Kwun Tong, at around 668,000. By population density per unit of land area, Kwun Tong was the densest, at approximately 59,000 people per square kilometre, followed by Sham Shui Po at around 47,000 and Wong Tai Sin at around 44,000. Lower-density areas included Islands, Tai Po and North.

In practice, higher-density districts let a vehicle reach more residents over shorter distances. Business areas such as Central and Western or Wan Chai derive much of their value from daytime commuters and shoppers, so timing matters more than resident population alone.

Matching objectives with areas, times and vehicles

Objective Suggested areas Suggested times Suggested vehicles
Finance, business and B2B Central, Admiralty, Wan Chai, Kwun Tong and Kowloon East Weekday lunch and after work LED advertising truck
Retail, fashion and beauty Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok Afternoons, evenings and weekends LED trucks, multi-purpose vehicles and vintage vans
Community services and new stores Dense neighbourhoods such as Kwun Tong, Sham Shui Po, Wong Tai Sin and Kowloon City Evenings and weekends Mini promotional truck
Families and new-town markets Sha Tin, Tsuen Wan, Tuen Mun, Yuen Long and Tseung Kwan O Weekend daytime and evenings Mini trucks or LED trucks
Restaurant traffic Store surroundings, offices, estates and shopping centre perimeters Before lunch or dinner, afternoon tea or late-night meals Mini trucks or LED trucks
Tourism and destination promotion Islands, tourist areas, piers and boundary-crossing surroundings Holidays and event periods Depends on venue conditions

A vehicle focused on two to four neighbouring commercial areas in one day is usually more effective than one spread evenly across many districts. Inter-district travel consumes time, while short visits to each area reduce repeated audience contact.

Population figures are taken from the Census and Statistics Department's 2024 district statistics and are used here only to explain campaign planning.

Which industries suit mobile advertising vehicles?

Restaurants and food

Target lunch, dinner, afternoon tea or late-night meals, using separate offer codes to measure visits, reservations and takeaway conversions. See Restaurant promotion strategies。

Retail and store openings

Build awareness before opening, concentrate on visits on the day, then continue membership and offer promotion around the store. See The three-day opening schedule。

Product launches and releases

Use LED trucks for confidential pre-launch periods, countdowns, launch-day content changes and official product information. See The complete launch plan。

Finance and insurance

Focus on lunch and after-work periods in core business districts, with simple messages, registration links and brand events.

Property and development promotion

Combine project surroundings, show flats, sales events and changeable LED content, after addressing statutory advertising requirements under the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance. See the compliance section below.

Education and enrolment

Use mini trucks to reach residential areas and parents' routes. Avoid stopping at or near school entrances; use lawful routes or approved venues.

Charity and community events

Reach neighbourhoods through regular tours, interactive questions, QR registrations, distribution and service information.

Exhibitions and major events

LED trucks build anticipation and direct visitors; exhibition vehicles provide product experiences; stage trucks host performances and gathering points.

Recruitment and talent campaigns

Display vacancies and QR application links in industrial areas at lunchtime, transport hubs or shopping centre surroundings to reach passive jobseekers.

Apps, games and digital products

Use moving LED content and large QR codes, with stationary displays in areas popular with young people to encourage downloads and registrations.

Advertising truck rental costs and quotation structure

There is no single fixed price. Total expenditure usually comprises:

Total cost = vehicle rental × days + vehicle graphics or LED content + on-site staff + extra equipment + overtime and additional journeys + venue, licensing and contingency arrangements.

Public market reference prices

The following prices come from third-party public Hong Kong information. They are not PEAKVEIN quotations, but can help identify quotes that differ substantially from market references:

Vehicle type, as classified in public sources Daily reference price Weekly / monthly reference price
LED mobile advertising truck Approximately HK$4,900–HK$5,500 About HK$35,000 weekly; HK$90,000 monthly
Standard mobile advertising vehicle Approximately HK$5,500 About HK$35,000 weekly; HK$105,000 monthly
Small mobile advertising vehicle Approximately HK$4,500 About HK$29,000 monthly
Character-themed mobile advertising vehicle Approximately HK$4,900 About HK$32,585 monthly
Food truck Approximately HK$4,000 About HK$24,500 monthly

Other public industry analyses place standard LED daily hire at around HK$2,500–HK$5,500, generally including a driver, basic fuel and tunnel tolls, with overtime charged beyond standard daily hours. Prices can differ by almost double because vehicle size, screen specifications, usable hours and inclusions vary.

Common inclusions and extras

Item Typical market practice
Vehicle hire and driver Generally included in daily hire
Basic fuel and one return tunnel journey Often included, but confirm each item
Overtime Extra; commonly around HK$200–HK$300 per hour
Vehicle design, printing and fitting A separate, one-off cost
LED content production Extra; avoidable if the client supplies compliant files
On-site staffing Charged separately according to headcount and hours
Venues, licences and insurance Charged separately; customers must help provide the required information
Campaign records and reports Depends on the deliverables agreed in advance

Ten questions to ask when comparing quotations

  1. How many hours are included in a day, and when does the clock start?
  2. Are the driver, fuel and one return tunnel journey included?
  3. What are the overtime rate and minimum billing unit?
  4. Are design, printing and fitting extra, and how many revisions are included?
  5. Are LED content production and on-site updates charged separately?
  6. How are additional harbour crossings or district journeys charged?
  7. Are on-site staff and technical support included?
  8. Which route records and on-site documentation are supplied afterwards?
  9. How are replacement hours or postponements handled in severe weather?
  10. What are the actual equipment specifications of the quoted vehicle?

Why longer bookings usually have a lower daily average

Vehicle graphics are an upfront cost. Design, printing and fitting are payable for either a one-day or one-month booking, so longer rental spreads them over more days. Monthly hire often costs less per day for ongoing brand visibility; a short booking remains more appropriate for a single event.

These figures come from published Hong Kong rental-platform prices and industry analyses. They are market references, not PEAKVEIN quotations. The formal quote and contract determine actual costs.

Safety, venues and compliance

Overview of statutory application lead times

The following statutory deadlines can become a constraint before vehicle availability does. Check them before confirming the event date:

Application / item Minimum lead time Other requirements
Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence: temporary structures required At least 42 days before the event Form FEHB104 and four copies of the plans; five copies where laser equipment is involved
Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence: no structures, other than a dance party At least 18 days before the event Issued by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department; fire safety matters may require Fire Services Department involvement
Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence: dance party without structures At least 7 working days before the event As above
Temporary Food Factory Licence At least 12 working days before the proposed start date Valid for no more than seven days; HK$220 fee; form FEHB 201A for individuals or FEHB 201B for companies, with proposed layout plans and payment on submission
Vehicle wrap printing and installation Approximately 14 days before the event General market practice, not a statutory requirement; allow additional time for design revisions

Vehicle advertising and equipment installation

Graphics and equipment must not obstruct the driver's view, required lights, reflectors or registration number, and must be securely fitted. Confirm technical and regulatory feasibility before installing LED screens, roof equipment, extendable stands or structural modifications, referring to Transport Department guidance on vehicle alterations.

Hong Kong regulates advertising separately by vehicle type. Taxi advertising has specific approval criteria for permitted positions and protruding fittings. Public light bus and non-franchised bus advertising requires prior written Transport Department approval. Verify the separate requirements if considering taxi, minibus or bus advertising alongside promotional vehicles.

Roads and parking

Bus stops, public light bus stands, taxi stands, expressways, tunnel areas, controlled areas, crossings and no-stopping zones may prohibit stopping or loading. Core shopping districts generally suit mobile exposure; stationary displays should use shop premises, shopping centres, private sites, event venues or approved locations.

Shopping centres and private premises

Obtain advance permission from owners or management before entering shopping centres, private estates, hotels, schools or other private premises. Check access times, routes, clearance, floor loading, power, insurance and event rules. Public liability insurance proof is commonly required.

Sound and noise

Vehicle and on-site amplification must account for homes, schools, shopping centres and night-time conditions. Under section 5(1)(b) of the Noise Control Ordinance (Cap. 400), using a loudspeaker, megaphone or other amplification in domestic premises or public places at any time is an offence if its noise causes annoyance amounting to a nuisance; loudspeakers mounted on vehicles are also subject to this provision。

Property advertising requirements: essential reading for property clients

This is easily overlooked and can carry substantial penalties. Under section 69 of the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance (Cap. 621), anything intended to promote the sale of specified residential property may be treated as an advertisement. The Ordinance does not prescribe an advertising format. The regulator's explanatory materials expressly include bus advertising panels, lightboxes, stickers and promotional items as other advertisements; vehicle graphics or LED screens promoting first-hand residential properties may therefore also fall within the Ordinance。

. Specific content requirements and penalties include:

  • Section 71(1): An advertisement published by the vendor, or by another person with the vendor's consent, must state that fact. The maximum penalty for a breach is a level 6 fine, HK$100,000.
  • Sections 71(2) and (3): The anticipated material date must be stated. The maximum fine for a breach is HK$500,000.
  • Section 71(4): Only saleable area may be used when giving area and unit-price information. The maximum fine for a breach is HK$500,000.
  • Sections 72(1)–(4): If a sales brochure has been made available when the advertisement is published, the advertisement must direct prospective buyers to it with the prescribed statement, meaning “Please refer to the sales brochure for details.” A breach carries a maximum level 6 fine.
  • Section 73(2): The development's location must be stated, including the district, street name and street number. The maximum fine for a breach is HK$500,000.
  • Sections 73(5) and (6): State the vendor's designated website address and the advertisement's printing date.
  • Section 73(7): If an artist's impression shows the development or its surroundings, include the statement required by section 74.

Because an LED display is not printed, yet the Ordinance requires a printing date, the vendor's compliance or legal team must determine how each statutory statement is presented in this medium before artwork approval. We can place statements within safe areas of vehicle layouts or LED screens, but the vendor retains final responsibility for statutory content.

These provisions and penalties are drawn from public Sales of First-hand Residential Properties Authority materials and the Ordinance (Cap. 621). They are general information, not legal advice. Consult the current legislation and regulator's announcements for applicable requirements.

Food and sampling

Before confirming dates, check food handling, venue rules and licensing for reheating, cooking or selling food. FEHD guidance requires a Temporary Food Factory Licence before a short-term business sells reheated pre-cooked food, or cooks pre-prepared ready-to-cook food for consumption off the premises, from a temporary stall or kiosk at a public event. For food campaigns, see Mobile advertising strategies for food businesses。

Adverse weather

Normal rain may not prevent vehicle tours, but stationary displays, distribution, sampling, stages and outdoor staff are more affected. The Labour Department's Code of Practice in Times of Adverse Weather and Extreme Conditions advises supervisors to suspend outdoor work as soon as practicable and move staff in outdoor or exposed locations to shelter when an Amber, Red or Black Rainstorm Warning is issued during working hours. Contracts should specify suspension, replacement hours, postponement or refund arrangements for tropical cyclones, rainstorms and officially announced extreme conditions.

This information draws on public Transport Department, FEHD, Labour Department, first-hand residential property regulator and Noise Control Ordinance materials. It is general information, not legal advice.

For further details, read Twenty frequently asked questions about mobile promotional vehicles、Stage Trucks and the Event Licensing Process and Property Launches and Major Event Promotion。

Campaign results and delivery records

An advertising vehicle campaign needs more than a claim that many people saw it. We recommend four measurement levels, listed from the most directly verifiable:

Delivery

Routes, operating times, stop durations, playback content, photos and video verify whether the campaign followed the plan.

On-site engagement

Distribution quantities, sampling participants, product trials, event participation, membership registrations and scans measure actual contact.

Attribution

Dedicated vehicle QR codes, offer codes, short URLs, phone numbers, reservations or registration pages measure resulting enquiries and conversions. LED trucks can even show two creatives with separate QR codes on the same day, enabling an A/B test that is less common in outdoor advertising.

Exposure

Impressions can be estimated from routes, pedestrian and vehicle flows and timing, but Hong Kong has no shared, publicly audited industry standard for outdoor advertising exposure. Any impression or CPM figure should disclose its method and assumptions.

The frequently quoted 97% advertising-vehicle recall claim comes from overseas research around 2002. Its date, market and methodology differ from present-day Hong Kong, so it should not be used as a performance promise.

Advertising vehicle rental and event service FAQs

What mobile promotional vehicle services does PEAKVEIN offer?

PEAKVEIN rents LED screen trucks, mini promotional trucks, multi-purpose vehicles, mini vintage vans, T2 pop-top vans and stage trucks. Depending on the event, we also provide sticker design, manufacture and fitting, LED content, route and timing planning, event planning, staffing, coordination, promotional materials, gifts, furniture and games equipment.

Are all promotional vehicles owned and designed by PEAKVEIN?

Our service information states that all promotional vehicles are owned and designed by us, without third-party subletting. Available vehicles, specifications, equipment, dates and usage arrangements are confirmed against the campaign date and each vehicle's condition.

Which vehicle should I choose for a first booking?

Consider viewing distance, access for larger vehicles, content changes and interaction. LED trucks suit video, night impact and countdowns; mini trucks suit estates and narrow streets; multi-purpose vehicles suit product experiences; stage trucks suit performances and ceremonies; and vintage vans suit photos and brand image.

What specifications do the LED screen trucks have?

PEAKVEIN's LED service page lists a P3 screen around 3.5 m × 1.8 m, approximately 6.3 m², with an aspect ratio around 1.94:1. It supports images, video, animation and text. Before production, use the actual pixel canvas, proportions, formats and safe areas confirmed for the booked vehicle; do not simply design in 16:9.

Can mini promotional trucks carry supplies and support distribution?

The listed specifications include solar power, Wi-Fi and a load capacity of up to 1,000 kg, supporting samples, gifts, promotional materials or small equipment. Confirm actual loads, placement and activities against vehicle space, weight and venue conditions.

Is the T2 pop-top vintage van suitable for touring?

PEAKVEIN's T2 service page positions it mainly as decoration at a fixed location or event. The roof opens and a generator can be hired separately. It is therefore better suited to entrances, photo focal points, backdrops and brand displays than intensive long-distance touring.

How do multi-purpose promotional trucks differ from stage trucks?

A multi-purpose truck provides display and interaction space for trials, registrations, distribution and mobile showrooms. A stage truck is an event focal point for performances, ceremonies, MCs and major promotions. They can be combined: the stage hosts the programme, the multi-purpose vehicle provides experiences and an LED truck directs visitors from nearby streets.

Can I specify routes and hours?

Suggest target areas, shopping districts, estates, stores or venues based on your objectives. We recommend practical routes considering roads, stopping restrictions, harbour crossings, audiences and usable daily hours. Focusing on two to four adjacent commercial areas each day is usually more effective than spreading across many districts, because connecting journeys consume time.

Can an advertising truck stop for a display in a core shopping district?

Not necessarily. Many prime streets have no-stopping restrictions, while bus stops, minibus stands, taxi stands, expressways, tunnel areas, controlled areas and crossings may also prohibit stopping. Use these districts mainly for mobile exposure, with stationary displays in shop premises, shopping centres, private sites, venues or approved locations.

Which areas are most suitable for advertising vehicles?

It depends on the audience. Official 2024 figures put the largest populations in Sha Tin at around 704,000, Yuen Long at 677,000 and Kwun Tong at 668,000. The highest densities were Kwun Tong at around 59,000/km², Sham Shui Po at 47,000/km² and Wong Tai Sin at 44,000/km². Dense areas offer access to more residents over shorter routes. Central, Admiralty and Wan Chai derive value from daytime commuters, making timing more important.

Can you arrange vehicle graphics, stickers and LED videos?

Yes. Services can include vehicle design, panel layouts, sticker production and fitting, and LED images or video. Printing and fitting need a longer lead time. LED content is easier to change, suiting near-term dates, changing offers, confidential launches and multi-stage campaigns.

How long does vehicle sticker production take?

Market information suggests around 14 days for printing and fitting. Including design and revisions, overall lead time is usually three to five weeks. Work backwards: printing completed and fitting started 14 days before; artwork approved 21–28 days before; design and vehicle layouts begun 35 days before.

How far ahead should an advertising vehicle be booked?

Allow at least one week to confirm a vehicle, with around 14 days for printing and fitting. Shopping centres, private venues, sampling, performances, temporary structures or other licences may need longer. Public entertainment with temporary structures requires an application at least 42 days ahead. Enquire one to two months before Lunar New Year, Christmas, major exhibitions, concerts and peak event periods.

What do rental charges usually include?

Packages vary. Daily hire may include the vehicle, driver, fuel, one return tunnel journey and basic equipment. Design, printing, fitting, LED content, overtime, extra journeys, promoters, supervisors, photography, venues, insurance and licensing are usually additional. Compare actual usable hours and itemised inclusions.

What are typical market prices for advertising trucks in Hong Kong?

Published Hong Kong rental-platform prices list LED trucks at around HK$4,900–HK$5,500 daily, HK$35,000 weekly and HK$90,000 monthly; standard vehicles at HK$5,500 daily and HK$105,000 monthly; small vehicles at HK$4,500 daily and HK$29,000 monthly; and food trucks at HK$4,000 daily. Other public analyses give standard LED daily hire as HK$2,500–HK$5,500, generally including a driver, basic fuel and tolls. These are market references, not PEAKVEIN quotations.

How many hours are included in an advertising truck “day”?

The market uses at least two definitions: eight hours within a 10 am–10 pm window, or nine hours starting when the vehicle reaches the target location. Overtime commonly costs around HK$200–HK$300 hourly. Compare usable hours carefully, as identical daily prices can represent different amounts of service.

Is longer-term rental better value than short-term rental?

Usually, because design, printing and fitting are upfront costs payable for one-day and one-month bookings alike. Longer rentals spread that cost across more days. Monthly hire often has a lower daily average for ongoing visibility, while shorter hire suits a single event.

Can you arrange promoters, sampling or leaflet distribution?

Yes. We can arrange supervisors, promoters, assistants, models, distribution, food sampling, product trials and QR-code activities. Reheating, cooking or selling food requires early checks on licences, food sources, venues and handling. Stationary activities must also use lawful, suitable locations.

What licences are required for sampling or selling food?

Under FEHD guidance, short-term businesses selling reheated pre-cooked food and/or cooking pre-prepared, ready-to-cook food for consumption off the premises from temporary stalls or kiosks at public events must obtain a Temporary Food Factory Licence before operating. The licence is valid for no more than 7 days and costs HK$220. Submit form FEHB 201A for individuals or FEHB 201B for companies, with proposed layout plans, at least 12 working days before the proposed start date.

What licence might a stage-truck event require?

Public entertainment involving performances, concerts, film screenings or related activity may require a Temporary Places of Public Entertainment Licence from FEHD. Apply at least 42 days before events with temporary structures, 18 days before events without structures other than dance parties, or seven working days before dance parties without structures. Submit FEHB104 and four copies of plans, or five if laser equipment is involved.

Can promotional vehicles play music or use loudspeakers?

Exercise particular care. Section 5(1)(b) of the Noise Control Ordinance (Cap. 400) makes it an offence to use loudspeakers, megaphones or other amplification devices at any time in domestic premises or public places in a way that causes annoyance amounting to a nuisance. Vehicle-mounted loudspeakers are covered by the same provision. Focus on visual content, routes and lawful stationary arrangements, and avoid amplification in residential areas at night.

Are there special rules for promoting property with an advertising truck?

Yes, with substantial penalties. Under section 69 of the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance (Cap. 621), anything intended to promote specified residential property may be advertising, regardless of format. The regulator expressly includes bus panels, lightboxes and stickers as other advertisements. Vehicle graphics and LED screens may therefore need statements covering vendor publication, anticipated material date, saleable area, reference to the sales brochure, location, designated website, printing date and artist's impressions. Some breaches carry maximum HK$500,000 fines. The vendor's compliance or legal team must confirm the statutory content; we can place it within the design's safe areas.

What should I consider for LED installations or vehicle modifications?

Check vehicle structure, equipment fixings, overall height and route access before changing screens, roof equipment, stands, sound or power. Transport Department guidance advises consulting the manufacturer or agent before modifications. All graphics and equipment must leave the driver's view, mandatory lights, reflectors and registration number unobstructed.

Can you provide GPS routes, photos or a report afterwards?

Agree the deliverables before the campaign. Depending on the plan, these can include actual routes, times, stops, photos or video. To measure conversions, use dedicated QR codes, offer codes, short URLs, phone numbers or registration pages on artwork and materials, then review scans, enquiries, visits and sales.

Will advertising vehicles operate in severe weather?

Ordinary rain may not prevent driving, but stationary displays, distribution, sampling, stages and outdoor staff are more affected. Labour Department guidance advises supervisors to suspend outdoor work as soon as practicable and move staff to shelter when an Amber, Red or Black Rainstorm Warning is issued during working hours. Replacement hours, postponement or refund arrangements should be set out in the quotation and contract.
